Hi everyone,

My wife is a Doctor (by qualification: Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor
of Surgery) and has been working as Medical Administrator since last
couple of years. She isnt practicing as a General Practitioner but in
the Admin Dept of Hospital.

My Questions are:

1. Should she apply for assessment to VETASSESS for Medical
Administrator ASCO Code 1292-13 ?? ***OR*** she would have to go the
AMC (Australian Medical Council) way which will of course require the
examinations as well.

2. We just had a look at VETASSESS web site and its requirements. They
only need the qualification papers (NO Experience Letters required). I
wonder how would they make sure if the person has really worked as
Medical Administrator ?

3. There are no further details provided for this ASCO Occupation, does
anyone know about the specific requirements to apply under Medical
Administrator ?

Regards,

Wow, thats the info I was looking for.

As far as I've understood, a Medical Administrator needs to have a
Bechalor / Higher Qualification ***OR*** 5 years of experience.
VETASSESS has mentioned clearly that we shouldnt send them the
experience letters or references. They only need the Qualification
related documents for Assessment.

However, one has to show that he / she was in skilled full time
employment during last 3 years (the normal DIMIA requirement)
immediately before applying to DIMIA.

Anyways thanks a lot for information. We are all set and applying for
the Assessment to VETASSESS in a couple of days.
